This week we caught up with one of our favourite bloggers Tilly Jayne, over a cup of tea and a few bars of Raw Halo. We’re big fans of Tilly’s blog, and we’ve been following her journey for some time now. If you have chance head over to her blog at tillyjayne.com – we love having a read. We asked all about her blog and life, see what she had to say below…

Name & Blog Name

Tilly Jayne

Describe your blog in one paragraph.

My blog is my space of the internet where I share my thoughts, travels, style and everything inbetween! Since going vegan I’ve also started to introduce some foodie content whether that be an amazing restaurant I tried or top tips.

What was the inspiration for starting your blog?

I started my blog back in 2011 (crazy!) and the reason being I had decided to drop out of university and reapply for a fashion based course. I had no fashion experience so I started my blog as a talking point for my application and also internships. It has served me very well!

What does a typical day look like for you?

I wake up around 7am and once I’ve finally managed to open my eyes fully I check my personal emails over breakfast and reply to anything urgent. I then head off to my day job in digital marketing, returning home around 5.30pm. It’s not too long until I’m back at my screen working on either my blog or freelance work. I’ll usually stop for dinner at around 7pm and cook up a curry or perhaps a chilli. I try to be in bed by 10.30pm as I don’t function well without at least 8 hours sleep!

What’s been your proudest moment since starting your blog?

Being invited on my first press trip was a real moment, as was being featured in Look Magazine. I feel proud every time I get to collaborate with an incredible brand that really feels ‘me’. I got work on a styling feature for the Urban Outfitters blog earlier this year, that was pretty cool.

Which social media accounts do you follow religiously?

I’m actually a sucker for following other people’s pets. I’m obsessed with this hairless bunny rabbit Mr Bigglesworth at the moment, he’s so cute! @loafy_mrbigglesworth

Which blog do you wish you’d started?

It’s not a specific blog but I wish I’d started travel blogging sooner, I’ve found a real love for it!

How do you find the inspiration to write each day?

To be honest, I don’t! If I didn’t also have a full time job I’m sure I could write everyday but managing both means I usually allocate 2 or 3 evenings a week for my blog and freelance writing.

What is your top tip for others wanting to start blogging?

Be true to yourself, look to others for inspiration but don’t ever copy.

Where’s your favourite place to eat out?

Anywhere with delicious vegan food. There’s a great vegan cafe in Cambridge called Stem & Glory but if I’m in London then I’ll head straight to Tibits, a veggie/vegan buffet off of Regent Street – it’s great!

Where’s your favourite travel destination?

Anywhere in America. I recently went on a roadtrip to California and fell in love with so many beautiful places, especially San Diego. I also love a city break!

What do you do to stay fit?

I’m no exercise nut, but I do try to walk lots and I enjoy yoga and pilates too.

What are your “can’t leave the house without” handbag essentials?

Phone, purse, camera, hand sanitiser and keys!

If you had power to change one thing in this world, what would it be and why?

It would be to live in a world where we respected animals and didn’t abuse or exploit them. If I had it my way, everyone would be vegan!

And most importantly, what’s your favourite Raw Halo chocolate bar? ?

It’s too hard to choose, all of them!!
